Life in London

Apologies I couldn't get this thing to jive tonight. It's not letting me put the pictures with in the text. I hate not having this perfect, but I guess you can still get the jist.

Well after a 3 hour delay on the runway... our flight was successful. Prior to leaving Newark I stuffed my face with pizza and cake trying to ensure comatose on the plane, well that didn't work. Didn't sleep a wink on the plane. Either of us. So by the time we arrived in London we were pretty beat up. Transfer to hotel and all went fine. We met some guy from New Jersey who kept insisting on meeting up with us later for a drink. Melissa gave him our phone number, but

either he never called or we were out and about by the time he did. We got to the hotel, crashed then showered and got out to enjoy the city.

We took a guided tour on a double decker bus, which was pretty cool. We have the pass for tomorrow too and noted some stops we'd like to make. We saw Big Ben Parliment and tomorrow the Queen is supposed to be doing some parade in the city we are going to try and make. There's also supposed to be a nude bike race through the city tomorrow, so we'll have our cameras ready for that!

The city is pretty. I'm not crazy about it though... Not gonna lie. The people aren't the friendliest, but I suppose no where can compare to India. I don't know what I was expecting. People like to eat and drink out doors... a lot. And the whole place seems a little uppity for me. At this point, give me the third world country. Sorry dad. But I suppose things could start looking up.

The high light of today was us getting in some shopping. Bag #1 scored!

I also picked up a scarf because it is absolutely freezing here.

And a hat 1. to keep me warm and 2. to look a little bit more like a Londonite. Not sure if that's a word. But I dig the hat.

We had to take the "tube" (subway) to get around today and thank goodness for Melissa because she was like my tour guide. I am not good with navigating... at all, but she got us there and back with no problems.

We stopped and had a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant. Took our time walking back to the hotel.

Tomorrow we have a free day... hope to see the Queen and some naked riders!
Hope all is well back home.

XOXO,
Janelle

  1. Well, I'm glad you made it okay! Yes, al fresco dining is very popular in Europe. How fun! Are you and Melissa not participating in the nude bike race????? Sounds pretty cool to me! Love you!
